Thinking About Getting a Jardini (What to Do?)

i added a 5"+ oscar and 2x 5" GTs to my jars tank and guess what happened, the next day my oscar and my GTs had almost all their fins torn and my jar refused to eat anymore
i removed the GTs and oscar they went to hospital tank and my jar did this hunger strike for 2 weeks straight i was really freaked out
before that i tried to add a giraffe chiclid which was as big as the jar itself 9" but they always were in combat, after three days i couldn't see my jar constantly battling with the chiclid and returned the chiclid as i had no other tank where i could keep the chiclid

not trying to discourage but just sharing my experience
anyways i hope when you try it works, that would give me hope

well, i'm hoping for the best and expecting the worse, lol.

i got the following to add for now (in quarantine): 2 serpae tetras, 2 black neon tetras, 3 buenos aires tetras, 2 black kuhli loaches
 
i started my baby jar off with zebra danio and smaller angel fish. eventually ate the initial batch of zebra danios and then got more danios until he hit about 3". then i got 1" dats and a couple of L66. after a while i got rid of the angel and it was just the jar, dats, and the L66s. about 6" i introduced a 8" silver and 6" silver. 8" silver killed 6" silver. added more 1" dats. then went added discus, gold head comp., etc. never had a single problem with my jar. the silver on the other hand..... killed the other silver and ate some dats

said it was eating bloodworms, krill and i can't remember what else. has been eating FD krill like a champ, but repeatedly eat and spat out the cichlid gold pellet i put in. they said it was too small to eat pellets where i got it from.

i'll try to take some pix tomorrow. there is a small chunk missing from its caudal fin, but it should grow back fine. i'm not sure how it happened. i probably just didnt see it at the store.

the lady at petsmart had to void my transaction and forgot to re-ring the fish i got (tetras and loaches), so i got free fish :) i think i'm going to pick up a few more tetras tomorrow.

i hope your petsmart has quality fish. been reading too many bad cases of people buying fish from petsmart and having it mess up their tank

that's why i'm quarantining them for 2 weeks before they go in. ive got a few from PS that have gotten ich within a couple days, like the cichlids in my 55
