Thinking about ordering fish from apistodave?

That is a complete lie.

You've obviously forgot the part where 1/3 of my order was never shipped to me at all. And you wanted me to pay for shipping because somehow that managed to be my fault...?
 
hmm, this sounds like a whole lotta miscommunication. This is why I rarely order off-line.. too big a crapshoot.
 
To be honest if the guy never shipped a few fish why should the customer pay for shipping ?? Sounds like crappy customer service.
 
oh, and did i mention that only 1 of the 3 'females' i recieved (i had ordered 4, last one never was shipped to me) turned out to be female. Hell, one of them was A. Cacatuoides double red - and I had ordered only triple reds
 
customer is always right! haha! joke. but i still disagree with the way you handled him dave that was so un prof. and what does you having a good look has to do with the problem that arise? seriously you should go to college and get a business course or something connected. a misbehavior in the business world can cause you a lot. just like this. see the comment that he planned to buy a fish from you and changed his mind because he saw this thread.

we had a neighbor that thinks his good looking hes now 23 he would always say im good looking my mom told me countless times but the truth is hes uglier than my hamsters ass. sadly his mom lied to him for 23 years and still on going. LOL

In your "regulations" it states that "live arrival is guaranteed" but it's ovious that there was a DOA. As well you did not ship half his order. I would be a little pissted if someone played me like that as well. If you guarantee live arrival and that doesnt happen, that is your fault, not the customers. On top of that you did not ship all the fish that this gentlemen has ordered. That is no ones fault but your own, and he should not be ripped off because your looking to make a quick buck. I believe (from whats been listed) that you have been completly un professional, when your in the buisness world the customer is always right. If anyone needs to learn something from all of this its you dave, you need to realize how many people are on this forum and how many people some customers know. If you have one bad and unprofessional expieriance with one customer, word gets around and you start losing alot of buisness. In all honesty this guys money is nothing compared to the customs orders that you are probably going to be losing because of this incident. Do you really think it was worth it?
 
I couldn't agree more with Darcy12877. As a manager of an multi-million dollar business, the number one rule is customers are first. 1 happy customer will tell 5 people, 1 mad customer will tell 50 people, 1 pissed off customer will tell the world. The loss of goodwill and future business was not worth the couple of bucks made on this deal. It would have been best to satisfy the customer and then refuse to do business with him in the future. In the world of business, it doesn't always matter who is right and who is wrong. All that matters is the bottom line and mad customers will eat into your bottom line very fast!
 
I have ordered lots and lots of fish online and very rarely had a problem
The few times there was I sent pics of DOA's in bag and was refunded, or reshipped right away.
anything expensive was insured, I have friends that sell fish and hear a lot of stories about how the people said all the stuff was dead wanted a refund but could not give proof.
I try to bend over backwards in terms of either sending extras, or refunding.
But I'm less experienced than most and have not built up a track record
But the who SELLING online thing worries me because of situations just like the above. And to get back any of what I've invested in fish over the years I'm going to have to start on aquabid soon with my angels
there are threads that go on for pages trashing someone but if things go well it's a one liner like "thanks fish are great"
Actually I think the customer service thing is if you make a person happy they will tell 2 people if you Piss them off they will tell 20


Since in my real job I work with the public, the other caveat is if you make them too happy they might stalk you from job to job or bother you in private life and make you feel bad when you are having dinner and don't want to chat for 2 hours ...
no intent to derail but just thought of a conversation with other females I work with
the concensus is if you're confident in your skills you are best off not being too good looking but not butt ugly either....

Ok bottom line I have no idea what happened in the transaction and all of this is just my opinion

I thought Ethanol was a fuel.... Never thought of using as a fish preservative
 
Ethanol is an alcohol, it's in alot of alcoholic beverages actually. The ethanol in gasoline is denatured or poisoned with methanol.
