After thinging about your question, my common sense tells me that the juviniles will have some of the color characteristics of an adult. But I believe they will have more of a camoflaged coloration to keep the juviniles from being eradicated by enemy's and predators.

In the list shown of the fish he has on his website, I would think they are of the adult colors. The breeding colors may be similar in most, but with perhaps added or brighter colors to attract the more mature breeding females.

Don't quote me on this, but this is just what my common sense tells me with dealing with non-native freshwater fishes from other continents. I hope this helps with your question.

The fish are jeuvies and are transluscant. Brian states it takes about 8 months for them to reach their color.
