This is the guy to listen to... LOL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good luck wit that. Chances are they won't....there just isn't a demand for the other stuff...not many people know what those fish are and won't buy them. Sucks alot.....:(.....thats the prob wit most of the LFS here is they don't wanna order in a rare fish cuz most peeps won't buy them and then they are stuck wit them....

:( , seriously. we only sell common plecos which sucks. no pikes at all. we really only sell, texas cichlids, jack dempseys, a few different africans. thats literally about it when it comes to cichlids. then saltwater and mollies, etc. thats about it.
oh, and pacu's

Typical PetCo/PetSmart....the ones around here get pikes, a couple other SA/CA cichlids...and Arowanas...lol...thats about it though....OH! There IS one that gets in Royal Plecos regularly....:D.....;)

forgot to mention we do get arowanas. have a huge section devoted to just golfish too :screwy:

working in the fish department is really cool, untill you realize about six months later that you don't have any more room for new tanks... lol
yah I know, but if all else fails I'll just add on a huge garage and turn it into a fish room =)

Yeah....same here. You know what was funny though! In Washington your not allowed to use live bait...so only some shops sell feeder fish. Well, Jed and I went to PetCo in Kennewick and got some Goldfish for fishin...and to feed our gars....they asked us what we were doing with them and we said we were settin up a tank...lol. Oh well....

I trust that you will be offering great discounts to all the nice MFKers out there for these kickass extra large acrylic tanks you will be building right?? :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
hahahahahahahaha yah yah let me get the basics down first, I am still playing around with the router to make sure I can cut everything even enough. I already have 2 tanks on request to build and I havent even started yet lol (one 500gal and one 300gal). But yes if everything goes well and the we do a good job with the tanks then I'll offer them on mfk but I am not sure how you are going to get them, I am sure shipping is expensive, but I'll prob. discount them for members, but dont expect anything soon, I am expecting everything to be up and running and then taking request maybe around begining middle of 2006 most likely the summer or summer-fall area (its hard working in the garage at the work station in heat.) =) Wish me luck! haha.

heres the work station:

[ somebodies already in charge of that, and she just keeps ordering the same fish over and over again that its incredibly repetitive. Never see anything new. So once ive been there working a while, im gonna ask that we start ordering some new stuff, like dif. kinds of plecos, pikes, etc. - Benefica540]

thats why you just add a few little marks on the computer of what you are ordering when she's not around, shoot when the guy orders on the paper at petland over here, I'll sneak over when he's helping people and mark fish I want that they dont have, and he just asks the dog guy to put in his orders so he doesnt know and bam, shipment comes and I get my fish... =) prob. only get away with it cuse me and my fishie buds here are pretty cool with the fish guy there.

Ash, well aren't ya sneaky.. If I get a job at Petsmart, I'll see if I can do the ordering thing and get like Uarus, Pikes, Altum angelfish, Zebra Plecos, Arowanas, get larger tanks for the fish there, some oddballs, new world cichlids, and old world cichlids... and the list goes on..
