Any tips on how to feed the ctenopoma? Its probly about 3 inches max and in a 125 with lots of wood plants....

Thanks alot

mine took pellets and almost anything else with only a few days of starving.
and they were 1.5 inches.s

when I first got mine he ate everything, flake foods, freeze dried mysis shrimp, sinking krill pellets, freeze dried krill. Now he just likes bigger sinking pellets, he's loving Hikari Cichlid Gold sinking medium pellets.

I got the ctenopoma started on frozen bloodworms and shrimp pellets. Going to pick up some other mini foods soon.
Picked up some catfish too and a small pleco to eat the algae.
thinking maybe some african butterflys?
and I need a school of good midswimmers....

they tend to be surface swimmers.

That's what I want to get. African butterflys fish are very unique looking. I picked up some giant danios for mid swimmers in my tank, not my favorite fish but they get a decent size(about 5in from what I've read). They're very active & really fast swimmers.

I feel the same way about danios, good at movement but not too interesting.
Trying to find a fish called a glass headstander, they look pretty cool and I think would go good with ctenos from what i read.

Yea, you suggested them but the little devils are pretty much impossible to find around me from what i have gathered so far.

i think these guys are seasonal.
the lfs near me brings them in only once a year or so.
