Looking good. I think you and I are doing the exact same stuff today lol...I'm also working on the BG for my 240 build. You ever have any issue with your fish or current flow blowing the sand from the sandfall around?

I'm doing a sandfall in my build as well but I decided to incorporate it into the build by doing a 20g xtall tank underneath the main 240 tank with the sandfall in the smaller tank just for visual impact and not in the main tank. Mainly because I have always worried the spray bar output or larger cichlids would blow/move the sand out of the sandfall pit. Just wondered if you ever had any issues like that or not?

I had a minor problem with my fluval 406 and had to direct it away from the sand fall. I only have discus and angels so no problem with the fish.

Fun project!

I dont think fish would bother it, and if you use the same sand as substrate you just have to reload the sand fall from time to time. The only problem I had with my sandfall was that the sand outlet was pointed strait out and the exit velocity caused some sand loss over time.

Nice rainbow by the way.

This is a fantastic build thread, thanks for all the detailed information.
