IMG_1487.JPG Back to work on my tank. It took me all morning to get enough nerve to drill the hole for the 2" bulk head.

IMG_1488.JPG Minor mistake. Forgot that I used a thick header on the stand. Had to cut room for the bulkhead nut.

IMG_1486.JPG IMG_1490.JPG Building a pvc frame to attach the overflow boxes. I had to build a footing for each because I did not take in account the extra epoxy I used in along the edges. I took 1/16 or so off the edges. Each is epoxied and will be siliconed to the bottom and tightened with screws

Dont forget to epoxy inside the bulkhead hole you drilled. Those things are notorious for leaking over time and if not protected it doesn't take much water to damage the wood leading to much larger problems. Easeir just to seal anywhere there is even a slight risk of coming in contact with water.

You have a good point! Thanks, I wasnt going to do that. Next batch of pond shield that I mix I will get a coat on them. Saddly I just let about 100ml set up

Also remember that pond shield will add to the thickness of the hole so if the bulkhead is a very tight fit now it probably won't fit after you epoxy it. If I remember correctly mine was a VERY snug fit after I sealed the holes and kind of kicked myself for not checking it beforehand to widen the hole just a tad.

Thanks, I will fouble check that before I seal it.

IMG_1508.JPG Mainly working in the background today. Procrastinating on the overflows, but taking baby steps.

The size makes it hard for me to see in my head.
Started over with the floor piece, and had to stack the styrofoam to get an idea of where Im going. Fun carving from here
