It sort of took place- it was just me and Jamie (titansfever83); his brother and some friends were also on the river. We canoed a stretch of the Duck and did a bit of fishing. I caught a very pretty male longear sunfish (Lepomis megalotis) on a Gambusia, plus I netted some as-yet-unidentified Notropis shiners, western mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis), blackspotted topminnows (Fundulus notatus), a young-of-year rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris), and various plants and inverts. Also saw quite a few birds, including a bald eagle, green and great blue herons, lots of prothonotary warblers, etc.; and some turtles, mainly red-eared sliders but also some northern and Ouchita map turtles.
I'd love to get down to the Duck again, and bring snorkel and mask this time. Unfortunately I'm too busy until fall.
