Hi, I posted a couple of days ago on my fish having Anchor Worms. I figured it went away, but I now see that the anchor worm has come back and he hasn't been able to recover from the fungus. He is a hardy little thing and is very energetic and hungry. I've been trying to find a treatment that could help with curing both the fungus and also treating the anchor worm issue at the same time. I was looking into Methylene Blue, where I have been reading on this site http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/AquariumMedication3.html that it can also treat goldfish for the anchor worms while helping to getting rid of the fungus (the infected fish is an Oranda).

Would this be an adequate treatment or should I go ahead and try using a different kind of medication?

I just got done treating anchorworms, they are very resistant to medication; I had to use sodium chlorite which killed off the anchorworm, plants in my aquarium AND the bacteria in my filter.

Some people recommend removing the worm, logically it would then follow to move the fish to a sterile container as I'd be wary of any unhatched eggs in the aquarium, it's then that i'd treat the aquarium anyway.

More experienced members will chime in hopefully, but from my experience it is a very tough one to eradicate; i.e. there will be more work involved than say for white spot.

Thank you for replying, convict360! I have him in his own separate 10 gallon tub, so no plants in this container so thats not an issue. As for the bacteria, once the issue is solved I can place him back in his original home

Be very conscious of transmitting to other tanks etc, very easy to transport unhatched eggs etc on wet hands.
