TSN LOG: START TO FINISH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
HAHA, TSN is DEFINITELY taking advantage of the fish only policy lmao, thats awesome though not many people can say they have TSN in college dorm lol but yeah i could see not wanting to put it into main tank right away especially when you aren't there to monitor it regularly, thats crazy though about the dorm water, i would think that water that bad wouldn't even pass inspection... when i had a tank in my high school dorm i would sometimes bring gallon jugs of well water from my parents place, and when i had baby turts in my college dorm freshman year i used one of those brita filters and did little daily wc, but i doubt brita filter would be good enough to get metals and stuff out :(

Ya, Ive resorted to lugging about 5 or 6 gallons from my parents house every weekend or so. But the API dechlorinator I have removes heavy metals quite well. There's just enough trace amounts of bad stuff in the water to cause a hassle for me.

I always like a challenge though, just makes me more experienced
it just sucks having to get my water checked everyday by a reliable local fish distributor because I cant possibly test for half of the stuff in the water with store bought test strips.

And im in college, i cant afford those master test boys

Damn, the dorm I'm gonna be in has a ten gallon tank policy, not just "fish only".

Just think: 10 gallons are perfect growouts for juvenile fish

If you have a cool roommate you could get away with plastic storage bins...No different from a glass cage

This guy was going nuts last nite... Heard a lot of splashing and woke up this morning and most of his guppys were gone...

Eating good now so going to switch him off live foods this week.

Going to start changing water once every 3 days now.

Luckily I'll be in a single-person dorm, so no roommate to have to bargain with :D Only one tank is allowed though. I get the feeling I'll be seeing a dwarf puffer or two and a smaller catfish for at least a while.

i have to chime in

my tsn went from 2 inches to almost 2 feet in less than 9 mths, hopefully you have the 200-400g range tank alread for him

Or better yet what a kick if they let youset up a 400g in yoru room who needs a bed anyways

Havnt changed the water in over 3 days...
really havnt even touched the tank...

He seems to have found a hiding spot between the filter and heater, cuz the guppies took over the one I put in there for him, and during the day they scare him a little bit.

He is still only taking guppies, and is completely spooked by anything else.

Ill post picks tomorrow when I preform a 25% Water change

Preformed a 40% water change, TSN is starting to become less shy
actually came out of hiding without darting around the tank.

Ate a lot of guppies but still hasnt taken anything but live.
-put some big ghost shrimp in there so i can eventually put frozen ones in.
