I never even knew turtles could live in water less than 70 degrees, let alone spend winter in the uk outside! This is all amazing to me every time I read it.

Turtles can be tough, adaptable creatures. Obviously not a climate all turtles can cope with. A lot of turtles will experience cold and frosts in their natural range.
If attempting to do a turtle pond in a cold climate its important all their needs are met and the right species chosen.
Turtles live in the wilds of Canada, but obviously only certain species can handle the harsh environment found here. UK winters are more like summer camp, to a true northerner. lol
