Types of Amphilophus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Saggitae are great!
I have 4 of those too, they are open water and I’ve found them less aggressive than labs or cits.
Mine are xanthic, so I have whites, pinks, creamsicle and one that looks like it may end up blue in the end.
Nice, would love to see some pics.

There are a dozen tanks in that room and they don’t stand still.

I’ll try when I get home

I think that 90% of amphilophus look like the same fish so I gravitate to lyonsi, istlanus, or trimaculatus. I currently keep lyonsi. I’ve raised trimaculatus, istlanus, and midevils in the past. Trimaculatus are my favorite fish of all time

My male lyonsi showing off. My favorite, not to mean can have dithers and bottom dwellers any plecos have been fine. At the same time still not push overs. I also think they are the nicest looking amph

Really gorgeous lyonsi. That orange/yellow sheen is intense. I have seen lots of variability in Lyonsi coloration, yours is super nice.
