Is that Lyonsi Patternless? Probably the lighting, but i dont see any spots or markings

Thought Trimac got reclassified? But they are on my wish list. I’ve had Lyonsi and while I love their color, they don’t have the same personality as the others listed. Hogaboomorum are also on my wish list because of their color and personality.

Do you have the tank by a window or do you have lights on your pothos ivy.... I see the roots in the water and have wanted to do that. Just haven't wanted to hang lights for it or anything

It’s just from the tank light no windows. It doesn’t need much light.

There is a great article in this months Buntbarsche Bulletin on the evolution of the Nicaraguan lakes, and gives a timeline on the evolution of Amphilophus. It also lists, and shows photos of the now 13 species.
