One that may not ever happen...

Dana just needs to get over the Anderson - Maia fight. Before Anderson fought they anounced already that if he wins he'll fight GSP at 170. Then Anderson does what he did and Dana gets pissed of course and says now that he does not deserve to fight GSP. He wants to punish Anderson for his actions but the reality is the only people that get punished with this bulls**t is the fans for not seeing this fight. Remember how many years Dana was crying about Liddel vs. Wanderlei when Wandi was in Pride and how he wished for many years that this fight could happen and then once Wandi came back it did happen but both were past there prime. Now GSP and Anderson are both on top of there game and I'd pay $100 just to see this fight alone. I hope the UFS brass will change there mind and realize that NOW is the best time to make this fight. Both have really no clear and healthy challenger within there division so let them fight.

Brazil is pretty pissed with silva. He said some racist remarks to Maia during the fight and made the UFC look like a bad TNA event to newcomers in a brand new environment.

For those that don't know BJ penn's trainer is now stating that he had a sinus infection etc before the fight.

Making this his 6th excused loss so technically baby J is undefeated.
Jens Pulver= Bad decision
GSP1 = Bad decision
GSP = Greased and steroids (Steroids being a false accusation)
Sean sherk= Injury / steroids
Matt Hughes (When he got pounded to jelly after gassing) was a result of poor Baby J suffering an injury
And now we got Frankie Edgar where they claim a bad decision AND ! a terrible sinus infection. Anyone else starting to see a pattern here ?

BJ destroyed Sherk.

Silva is a clown but is so talented. I can't wait to see him fight GSP. Fight of the century, perhaps?

I would love to see this fight too at any weight class. I do believe if GSP can't take anderson down he will get a severe beating.

Do you have a link to where they said Anderson would be fighting GSP at 170?

this isn't true, they didnt' officially announce anything. the only truth to it is Anderson mentioning during the countdown show that he may try dropping down to 170. he said something along the lines of "who knows, after this I may even drop down to 170"

something like that. then Joe Rogan mentions what Anderson had said during the fight some time and later Dana mentions that he didn't deserve to fight gsp the way he acted. I think that's all it was.

unless someone can provide a source, I'd say it was just talk although anderson can probably make 170, I'm not sure if it will be healthy for him or not sure how it would affect his performance. some people cut too much weight and they dont' perform well

I'd rather see GSP move up. Either that or have Silva fight at Heavy.

At this point, I'm sure Dana feels like feeding Silva to a couple top dogs in the HW division.

I'd be very interested to see Silva fight Heavyweight...

I don't think the move is great for either of them, but I think the best option is they fight at a catchweight, and it's not for either belt.
If Anderson can get to 170, GSP will beat him for sure.

I don't know if it's such a good idea either for a.silva to drop to 170 if he were to try that. catch weight sounds good but at the same time, they are trying to build their legacy. catch weight with no belt on the line is kind of pointless.

the thing with me about moving up or down to challenge that division's champ is to take the belt and solidify their legacy or their p4p status.

I think gsp is the underdog whether at 170 or 185. especially at 185.

I used to wonder why it was so hard to get a.silva on the ground? He has a weak takedown defense and he is a weak wrestler. It's not hard to get him on his back like we've seen in the past. What's dangerous about anderson is, his bjj defense and offense. And he is hard to take down because of his striking. I realized after the maia fight that his striking is so good you can't clinch with him at will without risking taking a big shot. Maia has good takedowns, he's shown that in the past but looked like an amateur at take downs against anderson.

I think this will be gsp's biggest hurdle if they should fight. i dont' think he has a chance at the stand up, although he has good striking himself, he's not on a.silva's level imo. the key to victory would be to win by decision on the ground or sub. but the trick is to not get ko'd in the process. I think he's 3-1 underdog in that fight

had to post this

bj sounds pretty humble in defeat. no lame excuses that I can see. and he's smart, says fedor is #1 p4p

"I’m not happy about losing the title. I don’t want to take anything away from Frankie. He did a good job. As a fighter, you’re always thinking you’re winning the fight and you never think you’re losing. You just have that mental mindset. Looking back at it, I just want to congratulate Frankie. My first thought was I gotta get back in the ring immediately and I want to get back on track. The UFC actually called us yesterday and they want to put a rematch in the works and we’ll see what goes from here. I think I got a good idea at what he’s gonna try and do. I know his power, I know how hard he punches, and I know the way he moves. I got that pictured in my mind. The rematch is going to be more technical. After my defeat decision the past couple of days ago, I’m not on [the pound-for-pound] list anymore. It’s gotta be Fedor. He finishes his guys and how can I argue against him?"
Former UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn is already planning on his rematch with newly crowned division kingpin Frankie Edgar after "The Prodigy" came up short on the judges scorecards last Saturday night (April 10) at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi. The Hawaiian has been considerably humble following his shocking defeat and even bestows the pound-for-pound title on famed Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko. Is "The Last Emperor" a surprising choice considering he's a non-UFC fighter?
