I really hope it does pull through Matt, it would be a ray with a story then! Good luck.

mark i have my doubts they are high i gave ths ray 110% death two weeks ago after i found it upside down ad hadto fipp it 10 times or more a day.now 2 days have gone by since i started the marcyn plus treatment and it has not flipped over.their was 40 ghost shrimp in the tank and i can only see maybe 15 now.plus the force feeding was sucessful i did pump it right into its gutts only some came out after!!

I just started keeping rays, and I must agree- water quality is key.

I have 2 9" Motoros in a 125- with 4 AC110's, and an Eheim Pro 2 canister filter. Params are perfect, but I still do 50% water changes daily never missing a beat.

This ray has been melting down for almost 4 weeks now without any eating on its own!

today i noticed different.i am sure it was eating blackworms when i went in the basement to check on him.i dont turn the lights on but i am pretty certian.i also dumped blackworms on him and i notice he eats out of his spiricle, well at least i see them going like he is chewing after he sucks them in through there.

this ray is going on day 3 of the marcyn plus treatment.wounds look good, well getting better.we will see after day 7.i do have access to kanaplex now a buddie of mine gave me a call and had some.

wounds have got better but the ray is not activley eating yet.its been here for 5 weeks.how long can a ray go without eating "worst case",it must be eating when i am not around.it looks like th hips are going to rip through the skin soon!! but theirs no dent between the eyes ,that got better

I understand you want the ray to survive, after all, the cost must have been a decent amount...

But how long are you going to make this ray suffer?

It's dying...

It's living .it wants to live it should have died already if that were the case.some days it shows improvement and others not so,but this is the strongest ray i have ever seen. I don't have any idea what to do now.leave it alone i guess.

how long can rays melt down like this for.if something were seriously wrong you would think it would have been dead already?? "right 5 weeks you would think so???"

any body else have rays melt down for this long.the way i look at it if it were serious it would be dead already.it must be something fixable .maybe this one wont acclimate.our water here changes a few times a year right now my other rays are even having hard times with it.our water is ROCK SOLID ph is over 8 right now.buffer down has no effect i have treid to lower the ph.i dont have ro unit.i think my friend was right in some rays just wont agree with different water!!

so it comes down to it once again water quality issues,no idea what the city of calgary does i also live in a brand new subdivision theirs only about a 100 homes in this community so far dont think this could have effects on my water but who knows.

My skin even irritated by the water.super dry and peeling.i cant really stand the taste of it.I know that they put alot of chlorine & fluoride in our water.some days i can even find slight traces of ammonia in our tap water but apparently we dont use chloramaines??
