The magnum x line does look great. However, I would personally never own them. Just as I'd never own a Costa Rican x Nicaraguan dovii. There isn't anything truly wrong with crossing locals, but I don't like the possible consequences to the market and hobby once those bloodlines reach less responsible or unknowledgable keepers. I don't find it any different than crossing Gorrilus with non Gorrilus. I don't look down on those who do but I don't personally condone it. Not when the locals are so distinct and very clearly segregated and pure in the market. Just opens the door for more muddying down the road.

There is no difference in crossing one Colombian location with another Colombian location, do you know how many different collection points nicaruaguan dovii are collected from?? I bet not, and the collection points aren't usually mentioned either. They're just referred to as a nic dovii. I can see the point in not wanting to breed a nic dovii to a Costa Rican dovii but not a nic to a nic right? No difference in a Colombia blue umbee to another Colombia blue umbee! There's no foundation for an argument there bro, just a matter of politics and opinion. I do personally think that breeding a gorillus to a Colombian blue is to be considered a hybrid umbee , which I agree should be dealt with responsibly when passed thru the hobby. Do you have any idea how many collecting points are on the rio Magdelana?? More than a couple which each point yields different looks, structures, freckles etc. so what's the big deal breeding a mag with another umbee a few miles away???

Also it's not just a few miles away, it's nearly half way across the country. And Columbia is a big country.

^^^ really?? Lol come on dude. You have no proof that your umbees even came from the rio mag. You only know what your told. Hell for all anyone knows, these umbees were spawned and raised in Europe or Asia in ponds and sold to the US as wild caught rio mags lol at least I know exactly where my lines come fromimported and vendors can say what they want but I personally know the guy who collected some of my umbees and there's videos to prove the collection. Not one vendor or importer has 100% proof of exact location, just a piece of paper saying where it was shipped from. I'm no idiot and I know your not either! I'm not out to get any vendor either. So without 100% undeniable proof, who's to say you actually have rio mags? If you've been in the hobby on the forums long enough and followed the umbee trail, then you might remember when umbees were referred to as Colombian blues. Wasn't for some time that a mention of rio mag umbee.. And the majority of umbees that came from Colombia were collected from wherever it was easy to collect from and thrown into ponds or holding tanks till sold.. People can think what they want about "mudding" the hobby lol but I will be collecting umbees from multiple locations with my good friend Umbeeking and will continue to offer new locations and high quality umbees
and will make documentaries proving the umbees being collected from Colombia, not picking up boxes at an airport from said location

I know exactly what your saying. I guess if in the far future people crossed them to the point were they ruined both it would just make a wild pure one that much more distinct and sought after. its like dogs people have 100 pound pitbulls but god knows they mixed other breeds to make em that big ya know. The magnum x line does look great.
