good work, i was never aloud anything like that at home, now i have my own place i have got a 120g tank and am looking to go bigger, sounds like your old man is pretty sound to chip in some of the cash as well.

i am sure you already know but if the tank is second hand make sure you give the whole thing a good clean (including the gravel)

looking forward to the pics

well i stacked all the wood and bot the tank yesterday. i cleaned it ,and set it up with water and the filter. i cleaned one of my filters in the new water and also threw in some flake food to make ammonia for the bacteria to eat to get it going quicker. it is great just kinda loud, with the bio wheels. one filter is a bio wheel 300 and the other is a 150 bio wheel. ill post picks of it now without the fish then later when the fish are in.

ill post pics of the tank and some of my fish enjoy

i hope your Dad lets you get a larger tank within the next 7-8 months. Because thats how long it will be until that Oscar grows too big and your bioload will be to much.

Unless you get rid of the oscar and keep just the firemouth and convict.

Or just have the Oscar alone and hope he doesnt feel too cramped once he's longer than 12" (which is the width of that tank)

Thats great your dad let you get it. And good of you to work for it. But i'm just giving you a heads up.

Yeah... Thats exactly what I said, but it was before I knew he had an Oscar.

IM sure if he trades in the 55g he can trade up for a 75g.

He might need to move some more wood though, haha.

the fm is staying in his 45 hex so the oscar will have the 55 to himself...

and if i had to move 5 chords of wood to get a 55, i cant imagine how much wood i would need for a 75. lol.thanks for all the comments, and yes my dad is being preety cool.

<---SoCal Boy here; How much is 5 cords of wood?

As others have said, good job EARNING what you want and hats off to your dad for allowing you to do so.

Enjoy!
