You need to look at helping to sort that mate...

lol my pictures did come out bad due to water stains on the glass, he defintly does not have HITH all over his head as the last picture looked like it did. the one where there was the circled on the for head, it is a sensory pit. it looks like HITH in the picture, because of the flash and everyhting but trust me, he is not covered in it. Also i was wondering does HITH start in the sensory pits, or what.

get that 55 cycled and get him in it alone quick just incase he is starting to get hith. make sure you do atleast 50% wc every week and bump the heat to 80-82 (slowly) and make sure you have plenty of salt in the water you change. then once that clears up, start hauling more wood and saving your penny's, dont get a 75 for the same floor space you can have a 90 and have a better shot at keeping your water quality on par.

Get a liquid test kit asap and keep your nitrates as far below 20 ppm as possible. I know you don't think it's HITH, but-if I'd just gotten that fish I'd be treating for HITH. And yes-it starts in the sensors. Those sensors should be perfectly smooth though. I've got pictures of how they should looki if you're interested, I'm sure most do.
He'll be a great looking Oscar but I honestly don't believe a single 50% weekly water change is going to be near enough for a full grown Oscar in a 55 g. With your willingness to work though I'm hoping you can do what you need to do in order to keep him healthy.

ok yes i do believe you are right. i do believe there are the small beginnings of HITH. I would like to see some pics of what the sensory pits are supposed to look like so i have a reference. But just to clear it up the picture that looks like he has HITH all over his face those are just water marks on the glass, it is only the one spot between his eyes, and the picture makes it look worse than it is. So hopefully i can treat it real quick before it gets bad.

hes got two penguin 350s on the tank. he is not going to have bioload with one oscar in a 55 with that kind of fiiltraation. one of those is enough. problem is oscars are just to big for a 55. thats the more important point. see if you can trade for a 75.

he doesnt have 2x 350's he has 1 300 and 1 150 plus an undergravel. he said that in a later post. the problem isnt the ammonia or the nitrates its the nitrites, cant filter to get rid of them. hence the waterchanges so for a large oscar in a 55 (12+") you must do at a minimum 2 50% wc's a week. get the 90 instead of the 75 and your waterchanges will do more at once a week, and if youre a day or 2 late because you got busy it wont make so much of a diff.

i was wrong. the filters are a 300 and a 200. no UGF, and i just got a sick log(actually roots) in there, i got to post pics of it, it was a dead tree then i used a pick to knock it over , then i cut it to size then cleaned it, took off the bark, sanded it, rinsed it, and baked it, now it is so nice. ill post pics in a bit.
