Trouble with the RTC. Since the end of April when I treated for ich with heat and a low dose of salt the RTC has been doing poorly. For a couple weeks he stayed next to an airstone at all times and was breathing hard nonstop(his gill plates also appeared somewhat caved in but look much better now). He seams to be over the heavy breathing but He is virtually inactive and eating very little. I'd have to measure to be sure, but he also doesn't seam to be growing in the last month, still about 4-5". I was concerned that the more active and larger cats in the tank were stressing him out so when I moved the cats to the big tank I moved him to the sump of the big tank by himself and he has a good spot to hide where he stays all the time and is still eating very little. I see him moving around pretty regularly now, just his tail sticking out of one end or the other of his hiding spot and when I check on him he appears healthy, but still not eating well. Hopefully he continues to improve and will soon be able to rejoin the other cats.
All other cats are doing very well and eat like pigs, though I have reduced the frequency of feedings in hopes of letting the RTC catch up a bit. I'll post pics shortly, I've got some of the planiceps, hybrid, and TSN, but the niger is being shy lately. I see him when I walk into the garage but he sees me pretty quickly and hides. The planiceps has become the most aggressive feeder of the group but doesn't stick around to eat, he grabs a fish and runs off then returns for more as soon as he's finished swallowing. TSN acts pretty similar but is a little more timid about getting to the food. Hybrid is lazy and usually the last to the food but stays and eats until the food's gone or he gets run into by one of the other cats.
