They are doing good so far! the water was disgusting so I did a quick drip and got them in... shoulda had justin video it... he still doesn't believe I "handled" them to get them in!

Hopefully the first pic doesn't come back to bite me on the butt!...

N/p that water got all messed up from the styro. I also had news paper in to help keep the temp even though it was warm. I had them double bagged and the big one actually bite and tore a huge hole in the bags all the way out. The styro wasn't cleaned well and the newspaper didn't help. I wasn't expecting to be pulling bag chunks out of the big Trops teeth at a gas station. I got all the paper out I could but yeah that was an unexpected event! I was tempted to change the water out with a few gallons of distilled water, but I figured that might be too much stress for them.

Understatement of the year... Justin was like " omfg what did you make me get? " when he called to say he was otw home.

LOL and I bet you wheren't expecting the "rest stop" you had to take. which btw I appreciate it. idk if they woulda made it if you hadn't checked them.

Next time I have to handle them I am taking video... TBH I'm amazed they didn't bust your 180. they where stressed and exhausted but they are pure muscle and I was barely able to manhandle them out.

Haha I told Justin "they are stronger then they look" they destroyed my nets, ripped bags out of my hands, broke a plastic grabber, oh they are a handful at times.

Well this morning... I accounted for everyone. except a few goldfish. They aren't eating yet, but swimming around and enjoying the pool it seems. Got a few trace levels on the water test or nitrite and ammonia but nothing horrible. gotta get the filtration finished plumbed ect to move all the scrubbies today or tomorrow depending on how much I can get done by myself.

Those tropical gars you bought have killed an african arowana, stingrays, beat up a big catfish, beat up an australian lungfish and almost killed a black arowana as well as cannibalizing smaller gar in a 500 gallon tank.

I hope you are willing to lose fish in your acquisition of them. Pond looks great, I am very happy my old big trops have so much room, makes me more happy than you could imagine. Good luck... PM me if you have any questions about the trops.

Thanks Madding and I was hoping you would weigh in here on them as well knowing you had a bunch of issues with them eating tank-mates as well. I put them in knowing full well i may lose fish. And I am very happy to be able to give these big guys a suitable home. By chance you have an Idea of how old they are? as big as they are they still seem like fairly young fish?

I made sure if I sold them I got them a good home. Did a lot to make sure of it. It makes me just as glade as you to see them in a big home. The reason I did sell them is I want to go the direction they have a history of destroying. I cant afford the multiple setups or do I have the space currently. So I made sure they were taken care of. Amy can vouch for that.

Like I told Amy and Justin after loosing fish I found was if they were eating something daily they didn't bother the others. Some of the hardest hitting fish I have seen though by far.
