and I have no illusions lol scott that any of the gar would take a nip if they thought my hands where edible. even though I don't hand feed them it still comes from my hand, and they've all started congregating where I have chosen to feed them. soon as I turn the mian pump off they group up and head over to that spot in the pool. when the pump is on its to hard to see everyone clearly, and imo thats just asking to get bit by someone!

Haha it will happen. My Cuban was a dirty sneaky fish and it got me 4 times. I only got hit by the big trop once. I didn't push it out of the way with the tongs before o reached into the tank...only to once to know not to do that again. Now I just have to watch a small Florida and my gator. Any time the top opens one Florida about goes and gets its own fillet out of the freezer and my gator, well let's just say it learned to much from the Cuban.

lil' update.. Everyone is playing nicely. And Justin has named the big Trop.... Snowflake.... for those ace venture fans out there.. I just shook my head and laughed.

LOL, well finally got the nitrirtes back down and balanced.. so nice to have tanks running 0-0-20ppm or less once again. I have noticed an over-all increase in activity but knock on wood they're still playing nice. BUt the big one.. man fearless... I've been pretty much forced to hand-feed her as if I don't she gets more aggressive towards me. So I've been feeding her massivore and smelt. when my smelt runs out gonna get some tilapia i think and some salmon ( I know its greasey..) they won't take nightcrawlers so far... kinda a good thing because then the rays and eel are getting their fills.
They never liked crawlers for me either. If you know were you can find gizzard shad they love that. They will put them down whole. Great source of food. I know I get them in winter in masses. This year the spot was closed to fishing so I couldn't get any.

Yeah, I hate fishing in the cold weather.. i'll be out on the weed beds soon as it warms up here as much as I can though.
