URGENT!HELP!Please help my "floating" giant

Is there a chance that there is nothing wrong with him, and he is just looking for a place to hide in a new tank?
 
i've seen big dats do this after stressful experiences - keep the water sweet and it'll settle in time :)
 
no its the aeration in my tank with my two ST i added a rena 400 and a rena 300 water changes every 3 - 4 days and over filter the tank just to keep the water param normal. i have two rena x3 enought filter for a 350 gallon in my 125. you will need alot of aeration for the fishes. also since he is new u need time for him to settle in. mines took a week
 
had the same problems to 2weeks ago,oxygen problem and to high temperature.
i just buyed an air pump and i lowered the temperature,after my datnioides starting to do there natural behaviour.
 
your ST had the same problems like mine before?
I have greatly improved the aeration and today his floating time has been reduced but still keep staying at surface
 
Is it actually floating? Tipping over, and going with the flow of the filters/power jets? Or is it just swimming to the top and hanging out?

I could be wrong but try adding a large piece of drift wood or rock, and see if he starts spending more of its time behind it.

If nothing else, it would atleast rule out it staying at the top in attempt to hide.
