Hmm that's interesting. That would just make me a little nervous, what if they got the wrong guy. I know that rarely ever happens but it has happened before. And then find out later when more DNA evidence comes in....oops!

i was thinking this too. i think we should make it happen quicker but not 1 week after being found guilty

there was a guy recently that got release. convicted of raping someone. with today's technology, they found he was innocent after like 37 years or whatever it was behind bars. ouch.

they gave him a certain amount of money for every year he served. think he got like 1.5 mil or something. man, i'd give that money back in a blink of an eye to get my 37 years back.

And is it a well-adjusted person who chooses to kill of his own accord? No. Thus, the decision came from flawed thinking. Flawed thinking which can be corrected.

are you freaking kidding me!!! :screwy: so you dont believe in any sort of punishment for criminals? just send them to therapy? sign me up for this society asap! under your logic, i could rape, murder and steal all day and still be forgiven because of my "flawed thinking...which can be corrected"?

im gonna use that line next time i get pulled over for speeding or driving while intoxicated. lets see if it works

And he does owe society for what he's done. But if he dies, how can he pay us back?

he can pay us back by getting killed in front of a firing squad :D

As gory as it is, I would imagine that several simultaneous bullets to the head would be a painless death.

Right, right. I agree he chose to kill, and that it was totally and utterly wrong and awful. And he does owe society for what he's done. But if he dies, how can he pay us back? We can condition him, employ him, let him be a spokesperson from his cell, etc. Why did he make the choice to kill? You've got to get psychological and find out the things in his head that are off and correct them repeatedly, testing his response to stressful situations and keeping a close watch on him for a long, long time. It's just not right to kill again.
well we differ in opinions their i don't need to be paying for somebody who isnt beneficial in really any way. their is plenty of former inmates who preach and do good now but he has already done some stupid thing twice and the whole psychological thing alright are brains are wired differently but he was able minded and knows right from wrong its just like somebody looking in the refrigerator and their is a nice chilled beer their and the have a alcoholism problem should i have it? probably not but their going to anyway its all about self control and if thats not one of the values you posses on a grand scale of taking ones life you shouldnt be walking IMO.

For me, this makes so much sense.....

-I don’t think you should support the death penalty to seek revenge. I don’t think that’s right. I think the reason to support the death penalty is because it saves other people’s lives.
