waht exotics have you caught/found/seen?

Wow common carp are 'exotic' catches were you are?
My brothers big on fishing and common carps are native here..I will try get a pic of him with a HUGE mofo of a carp. When I say huge I mean huge.

Carps (including koi and goldfish) are all old world species. Common carp, silver carp, and goldfish (gibbel carp) are all established in my area, while grass and bighead carp occur nearby and will probably invade here sooner or later. It's really sad. My region (Cumberland and Tennessee river drainages) is known for its spectacular freshwater diversity, but it's being hammered by invasive exotics, development, poor agriculture, forestry, and mining practices, dams, etc., etc.

Well not sure how big they get but the biggest one I've seen was about 10" and no i dont breed them cause we have dam to much of these fish lol and i only collect thye males for there nice coloration

Thanks I just read they are super aggressive as was interested in them and yes get large ,grow fast.

Do non-native stocked species count? We have all types of trout species here in PA but I think the only native one is the Brook Trout. The only exotics that I've seen are goldfish, koi and common carp.

theres a pond near my house wtih koi and goldfish, huge but wont bite.
besides carp and what not ive never seen anything crazy. waiting to snag something interesting from the pond in town where u see mad turtles that people have let go.

Today caught 2 adult Oscars by some pond near Glades shooting range .
Saw few 3 to 4 inch small Oscars .
Other than that caught same ole same ole but saw lots neat gators and snakes.

Either way wanted to add Oscar to exotic list One of the Oscars had strange under bite the others were normal but imagine born in wild few generations as drab colored as they were.

forgot round gobies. I catch them all the time in the Saginaw River and some other rivers. As someone else mentioned common carp are also exotics in the U.S. Have also seen a few sea lamprays. Almost caught a pike with one on it once. The pike broke my line and flopped back into the water. If you count zebra mussels, they are a big problem in Michigan

I think talipia but not sure . Caught a few small ones on earthworm baited hooks with no barbs .

Other than that caught same ole same ole . I was actualy targeting convicts lol as jumbo ones in canal but caught tiny talipia and few tiny jags . Convicts wont bite .
