My brothers big on fishing and common carps are native here..I will try get a pic of him with a HUGE mofo of a carp. When I say huge I mean huge.
Carps (including koi and goldfish) are all old world species. Common carp, silver carp, and goldfish (gibbel carp) are all established in my area, while grass and bighead carp occur nearby and will probably invade here sooner or later. It's really sad. My region (Cumberland and Tennessee river drainages) is known for its spectacular freshwater diversity, but it's being hammered by invasive exotics, development, poor agriculture, forestry, and mining practices, dams, etc., etc.
One of the Oscars had strange under bite the others were normal but imagine born in wild few generations as drab colored as they were.
