Want mini-monster suggestions

exodons... I like that idea. I used to have a school with big cichlids.

I really wanted a setup with one small pred and some colorful fish too big for it to eat, along with plants and driftwood, but I think I'm gonna settle for a pair of german blue rams, if I can find really nice ones, and three different kinds of tetras and a few dwarf aussie rainbow fish, if there are any up here. A splash of colors. :) Maybe some corys too. I could possible get a corner tank or something, not just the conventional 10 gallon tank, I'll see what's available up here in the Bay Area. Thanks for the suggestions.

It's just gonna be hard for me to keep any really exotic stuff that need live food or unprepared food, cause it's more expensive than fish that just eat flakes and pellets. I'm in college remember? And they try to rip a hole in our asses all of the time with bills and crud. XD

I think exadons might eventually kill each other in a ten gallon. If you like shell dwellers you could get a trio of those or maybe some Neolamprologus caudopunctatus.

Some dwarf puffers would be really cool, but mine apparently would have rather starved than take commercial foods.

good luck, have fun. I wonder how much fish store selection is different there on the west coast than from here in SC. trying to find a pic from my old twenty, with red serpae tetras, gold foil hatchets, and that african jewel. Remember to overkill on filtration, or you'll be changing water more often than you probably will want.

Probably not that much different. You guys might be able to keep some fish that we can't though, or vice versa. I'll post pics when I get it all set up. :) And I know, I might be able to go up to 20 gallons, but space really is an issue.

man, 20 gallons would make a big difference towards getting what you really want. They're not that much bigger either, same stand, right? Here's a pic from that twenty, not a big one. Everyone has relocated to better tanks, now.
