I feed once a day should i cut back

you could feed every other day for a week, do your water changes and it should clear up.

adding stuff like purigen isn't necessary to keep a crystal clear tank or to keep your nitrogen cycle in check.

you should be able to do this easily with regular maintainence and proper feeding.

if it were me, I would try and solve the problem the old fashioned way before adding purigen or bottle fixes.

good luck and keep us updated

Well, I put the purigen in my emperor 400's and nothing. same as it was before i spent 40 bucks. I have a few additional questions. Like i stated before would taking the substrate out of my tank, rinsing it, letting it sit in the sun for a few days have any negative effects on BB? If my tank did start to cycle again should i do water changes or let it be? Also i have started to feed every other day not everyday

removing and cleaning the substrate will kill any BB that was there

if the tank is doing a mini cycle, then don't change the water

feed every other day for a few weeks

what is all in the tank?

dont know if it is the problem but when i had carbon in my aquaclear 50. my water was cloudy and i took it out and like a day later it was clear
