it is special, it has a "special" price.

i measure out my salt the same as any other salt, and the morton salt is for the most part the same size as "aquarium" salt.
how much do you add?

you cant beleive how glad i am that i stumbled into this thread
ya i didnt believe it at first but if its the same i guess i gotta try it :)

i use 1tbs per 5g after ever water change. this subject is highly debated as well. some add it all the time, some only for medication. but thats a whole other thread!!! this should be a sticky

so...
0tbs per 5g if tank is perfect
1tbs per 5g if tank is just "ok"
2tbs per 5g if tank is showing signs of sickness
3tbs per 5g if tank has sickness
sound good? :D

also
while we are talking salt tips
someone on mfk told me the best way to dissolve salt
"havent tried on the water softener salt"
"and the person that told me gets the credit here, sorry i forget easy and forgot who it was lol" :D
but hang a net in the water and add salt into it
works good :)

if ur fish r sick... just dump in enough that u cant see ur fish anymore... always works for me hehe

If your salt is too chunky, go to goodwill and get an old blender or coffee grinder.
