wow me being 35 and power training all these years I still dont know the lay out formula for personal records. This is what I am assuming...from smarty pants numbers lay outs...current gym pr's 528/315/450

528 is squat, 315 in bench, 450 is dead lift. I hope I am right about this. Geez you learn something new everyday. I have always laided it out Bench, Squat, then Dead lift for me personally that was why I was confused at "current gym pr's 528/315/450" I thought he benched 528 which I was really admiring but then seeing 315 and 450 I got confused because those are some low numbers for squat and deadlift.

not knocking anyone but those are pretty low.. however I am not really to talk, here are my stats, bench = 265, squat = 465, dead = 425.
I am 6'0, 185-190 depending on how motivated i feel that week.

185-190?? damn, last time I saw you, it was at the '08 socal meet, unless i'm wrong

you looked like you were 150-160 max if I remember correctly and didn't mistaken you for anyone else

you posted a pic of you bench pressing one time right? how much you max now on the bench? back in highschool senior year, i weighed about 150-155 and maxed 295 and i'm 5'6". i can still hit 250

yea bro you're not mistaken, at the socal meet at johns I was about 145-155. but that was well over a year ago..
I am as of right now 187. but i eat like a mad man and trian almost every day. i take weekends off and rotate my workout routines. i dont schedule them out like upper body this day legs another back another shouldher arms etc etc...

I have only been training roughly 2 and a bit years up from a starting weight of about 125-130lbs bodyweight. I also train for football atm havent competed since september last year.

update of me squating
415 for three reps, I admit form was terrible i just shot the video to see how low i went, as you can see need to go lower.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nRKVImcccY

but here you all go, i'm 187 in this video.

edit, 415, 2x 45's, 2x 35's and a 25 on each end.

So, thats not you in the avatar then? I always thought is was actualy Evan, or one of the other Animal guys.

And yea, not to trash you, but you are doing the infamous 2 inch squat. I suppose it sounds goodsaying you can squat 415lbs, but you cant.... really. You'd be much better off taking alot less weight all the way down.

I litterally said that was terrible form...
I have to make another video of me doing it right, i can do 505 perfect form. that was just a test to see if i can get low enough. which i said i didn't.

thanks tho..:irked:

Dont get upset, I was just agreeing with you. I have to say though, 505 with perfect form would really suprise me based on that vid. No insult man. I've spent some time around the weight room, and I see alot of guys too concerned about their numbers. Dont take it personal. More power to you if Im wrong. It wouldnt be the first time.

Hi,

You asked for advice in your first post. Based on what you've written and posted here's my two cents.

You need to find someone who can show you how to preform lifts properly and find a place with better equipment. Squatting in a smith machine is nothing like free squatting.

Squat like the girl in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTbf0rOoMLg

I'm a powerlifter.

Sorry, Im a bit confused too. Are you saying in your sig that that is you in the Avatar? I guess it doesnt matter, but this is a subject that I am interested in myself. Body Building has become a bit of a hobby/habbit for me the last few years.

I did ask for help, but it wasnt on form or anything, it was how to overcome my plateau.

I'm not upset man, sorry it comes out that way, glad you guys are giving input.
but i promise you i can squat 505 with perfect form, i dont like to but i can. I also don't squat on that machine, i use a real squat rack, but i never have spotters so thats what i am forced to use most of the time..
