Settle down you lot or youl force me to post a pic or two. 12 years of bodybuilding, competed 3 times, my pride and joy- 19 inch arms.

Whatever your phisical gaol it can be achieved with the right mindset, its takes 3 d's, Dedication, discipline and desire.
There is no such word as a hardgainer in my book, dosnt matter what body type or hight you are it will not prevent you from reaching that goal whatever it may be.

I have known plenty of bodybuilder over the years of all different body types, some barely over 5 foot but it hasnt stopped them. Don't get in to the habbit of making excuses.

first things first, stop talking about it and make it happen, work on your diet and get started on a 4 day split. I can even post up some diets and splits if you want.

Train hard, eat big-

Darren
+1 Most bodybuilders are under 6'. There is a lot of uneducated info getting passed around about weightlifting.

what's your body fat %? if it were down to around 5-6% you would look much bigger. all apart of the optical illusion that is fat. this is all depending on your current %

You realize that is competition bf? No one, not even Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler or Arnold walks around like that all year.

very true, getting down to 8% bodyfat is extremly difficult, takes a very strict diet and 6-8 HIT cardio sessions a week plus workouts. After my 3rd comp id decided id had enough, the amount of time and effort it takes to get in to competition shape really drains you, you feel like crap and it was in my prep peroid for that last comp that i injured myself, partialy tore my right peck and strained my back.

I now have issues with my right elbow and have to wrap it up when i train, my knees arent what they used to be but luckely i still don't need to wear any wraps (yet) , i get sciatica and feel i dont have the same range of motion when working chest, competing ages you but if i could go back in time id do it all again becouse its my passion but you learn your limits.

I still train 5 days a week, eat 8 meals a day and work hard to maintaine 10 -11% body fat although i usualy get to 15-16 % when bulking.

Bodybuilding isnt easy, its damn hard work but its also very rewarding and teaches you allot about yourself, what your capable of acheiving, makes you a stronger person and not just phisicaly.

cheers-

Darren

I couldn't agree more with your above statements. I've never ventured to the bodybuilding, but I know I learned a lot through powerlifting. Any goal that is set, then achieved is the most rewarding of all kind; regardless if your goal was to bench 200lbs or 500lbs or win your class in a local show or win Mr. O.

well yeah it's a short term fix but nonetheless it'll make you look big

Can anybody suggest another form of mass protein ingestion? I HATE SHAKES! They wreck my system and make me gag no matter how much I try to mask the consistency. I would also like to know, what is the optimum grams of protein to ingest? Ive read soooooooo many different accounts, I almost expect the same here. Thoughts?

Eating your protein in the form of meats is an easy way to avoid shakes. You may be surprised to how much protein is in a serving of chicken (if you don't know already). As far as protein intake? If you're looking to gain weight and muscle I would suggest 1.5-2g per lb of body weight each day. So you should be looking at 300grams per day.

I would like to see the pictures backing yourself as well. I'm sorry, I know too well about the human body, but if you're trying to tell us that you have a bf % any less than 20% (assuming that is your pic in your avatar) than you're lying.

And it starts...
Look at my video, obviously I am not the guy that was in the avatar.
I have posted a video of me half arse squating.

This has gotten off topic and taken over by other people (gr8):irked:

So thanks for the help, have what I needed.

My bad bsixx, I meant to quote undermost. Someone suggested about getting toa bf of 5-7%, his next post said "i managed it". I was suggesting that if that is himself in his avatar, he was somewhere around the 20% range. He also said he had pictures of himself, thats why I said I haven't seen them either! Again, I apologize!

What changes have you made so far? My biggest reccomendation would be to squat to depth. In your video, other you not going deep enough, your form looked right on.
