Cool cant wait to get me some red mushrooms, they'll brighten my tank up nicely!
Also I've been looking at the phtofeast, and it brought me to thier website. Tey seem to have very interesting products if you guys wanna check them out just type in phyto feast, and a site should come up called "reef nutrition". Also does anyon eknow where mandarins are sold fed on prepared foods? If not I'll wait another year in hope of copepods to grow in my tank.

You would have to go through an LFS, but ORA(oceans, reefs, and aquariums) offers tank raised ones that are fed prepared foods(I am not sure what they feed). I also am not sure how frequently they have them in stock either.

If I was you, I would wait on the Mandarin as long as possible so that you have an established system and population of pods. They will act as another healthy food source for the mandarin and help you be successful in keeping it.

Oh yes... the mandarin. Awesome little creature. Going on 2 months with mine and doing ok. However he is ALOT of work and kind of expensive to maintain for $15 fish lol. I got mine on brine/mysis and the occassional NLS. However their metabolism negates they eat constantly so a healthy pod population is a must. One can wipe out a 30g tank worth of pods in a day. I dose my tank every two weeks and i have a refugium as well to ensure proper pod housing. So basically it will cost me 400 a year in just pods to maintain the guy lol

That being said once your tank is setup properly and you can devote the time to having one... they are really cool

Dam you guys are right, I'll wait like a year is thier a way you can then tell if the pod population is worth having a mandarin? Also logo I have a 72 gallon bow front that has been salt water for almost 2 years.

Setup a fuge... they are heard to see in the tank but run a muck in the refugium

A fuge will help with your pod populations for sure. How much live rock do you have?

Id say about 60 to 70 pounds of live rock..also does anyone know wherw to buy a cheap fuge? Under my tank i have space for a 10 gallon tank...today i went to my lfs and i guess they began to get reef nutrition products...they have a fridge from thier with nothing but thier products. I purchased trigger pods just to see how my fish would act...it was $18 for a 6 ounce...exspensive but other places are $20. Also any other benefits of a fuge? It will be running with my fx5.

Reef octopus has a skimmer fuge combo...

a fuge has many benefits. Ability to house pods, grow a macro algae to feed off tank nitrates, deep sand bed for nitrate control and the abilit to give certain fish a refuge from the main tank. I have an AC110 i converted and have LR and macroalgae in mine

Hey i cant find the reef octo fuge combo on google, do you know a link of it? Also i guess the ac110 is a fuge? Ill look it up.

I apologize... it's cpr aquatic http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/aquafugepro.html

Also the AC110 (AquaClear 110) is actually a hang on back power filter. I converted it over to a refugium... I bought it for 60 bucks on amazon... It's the cheap and dirty refugium lol

The fuge and skimmer combo looks good, however I have no space for it :( I have room under my stand for a 10 gallon tank...and nothing more because it's next to my fx5. Is it possible to my a fuge under my tank, not a sump but just a fuge? Also thank you for clearing it up, I actually have the Aquaclear 30 on my qt....when you abbreviated it to "AC" I though it was a whole different filter lol
