Lacertas are not monitors they are lacertids one of the most sucessfull old world family of lizards. They tend to be very hardy captives because they come from kind of hard evoirements in the wild. In most of the states they can even be kept outside yearound. This one in particular is the sand lizard(Lacerta agilis) I think they should become much more popular than they are and they deserve to be a pet shop staple like bearded dragons and leopard geckos, because they are so easy to keep. You can purchase several species, from the smalish ones to the spetacular and big ocelatad lacerta from:www.agamainternacional.com. Ive posted this link several times but it tends to come bad , so if this happens google it and see what you find. I personaly think they are very atractive...too bad we here cant have any native species even if captive bred and documentedcoura;1969918; said:Lacertas are not monitors they are lacertids one of the most sucessfull old world family of lizards.
