what do you feed your bichirs, these days?

My endli is going after algae waffers and most commercial fish food.

I didn't train him to so that's up to him since I keep a somewhat large school of Rosy Barbs and livebearers for him to snack upon. It's great to observe him "hunting" his food.

He had tillapia fillet in his early days with me; those first days I ended placing him in my Red Cherry Shrimp tank where he had his share of inverts. When I got him he was in bad shape, way too skinny, measuring a bit under 7"SL. He's gorgeous now, at 11"SL.

Only had my little senegal a week but so far he ate 6 out of 7 of my angelfish juvies on the first night. I rescued the last one and moved it to another tank.
Since he seems to be a bit of a lover of live foods I now add a couple of cherry shrimp to his tank so he gets a bit of exercise stalking and chasing them.
Mostly I feed as a basic discus dinner which is a frozen food containing beef heart and small amounts of vegetable matter. I also feed frozen Hikari bloodworm every couple of days and some sort of shrimp krill or something as he is only a little fella yet.
Last night I broke a Sera Vilfomo tab in half and he seemed to quite like it as well.

I enjoy the interaction we are developing where he comes up to where I feed as if to say "what are we having tonight mum?" :)

I just feed mine Hikari Sinking Cichlid Pellets and Frozen Ghost Shrimps.

I feed mine:
Massivore pallets
Lance fish
Hake
crickets
meal worms
prawns
and from today catfish(caught it yesterday) chunks
