What do you keep with your arowana?

Hey all

I just joined the forum so I thought I would start by telling you I am in the middle of building an arowana tank.

I want to know what weird and perfect combination of fish you keep with you arowana?

I was personally thinking of putting green severums and a teacup stingray. I would love to put in a school of colorful fish.

Suggestions, opinions, and experience are appreciated

Pacus aren't good tankmates ime, mine constantly bites at my aro, and a jag would be even worse (probably end up w/ a dead aro).

thats one reason i don't have my 14" pacu anymore...some are fine, but most are nippy...haven't had a jag, but alot of people say jds are a-holes and all of mine have been wusses...

Some of the most beautiful Arowana tanks I have seen involve a big school of Discus for the mid and bottom level.

I personally keep gar with mine.

I agree, and now that the attachment have been fixed I can repost this pic of a tank I kept a couple years ago.

nice tank brian...i have often thought about having discus in with my aros...i always find something else that cancels discus off the tankmate list...i should just set up a tank for aros + discus...

My com tank of aros doesn't like shiny fish. They will kill them.

and neither do gar...not a good tankmate for shiny aros (esp. american and australian)

I have an oscar, clown knife, pleco, and what I think is a bluegill (sunfish) with my aro.

disagree i have never had any problems with my gar...it has been with aros, tinfoils, angels, balas, ck and a few other shinny fish never an issue...

That discus arrow tank is beautiful.

I think I will do that with a stingray.

To me, the best tankmate is another school of aros in there.
