It is unfortunate how this has turned out especially with the recent revelations, but this actually speaks to my point about how whether you want to admit it or not, in this kind of debate your "facts" don't really matter. You can post all the "facts" you want about what the word America means but at the end of the day, it is still the term that the people of the US use to identify themselves, and it's not going to change, and really there is no reason to change it just because you don't like it. But see thats just it, this debate rests on the fact that you don't like it. Thats your opinion. So, no matter what you put down on these pages, it's your opinions vs. others, you can't declare a victor. Of course there is such a thing as doing it with class and gaining the respect of your opponent, but I don't really think thats even an issue, and thats too bad.
Not sure what you don't understand.
Maybe one day we can talk about propaganda, that might be interesting.
Or anything else you are interested in.
But for now this debate is over.
Facts are important Yoshi.
If anyone had checked my facts they would have shut me down at post #84, page 9.
You seem like a very nice and trusting person.
That's a good thing.
But not everyone in the world deserves your trust.
Not everyone is as nice as you.
There are bad people in the world.
People who lie and twist truth to convince you to do what they want.
Sometimes, that is very nearly the definition of some politicians.
Sure your government can only do what you tell them to.
Until they convince you to vote the way they want you to vote.
Governments lie.
Don't trust them just because they sound convincing.
Listen carefully to what they claim, and check for yourself if it is true.
I am sorry I played a little trick on you.
I don't want you to feel bad about this.
But when this started I didn't know you at all.
And I used you to make a point.
But it's a good point. It's important.
I hope we can be friends after this.
Because I have grown to like you.
I don't at all think you are dumb for believing anything I said.
Or for just believing that I believed it.
You are just a nice, respectful, patient, trusting person.
And just so you know, I was using your emotions to keep you upset and unfocused on the facts.
I'd be nice so we could be friends and you would be more likely to listen and accept my view.
And used strong emotional language to gain sympathy, or make you ashamed and question your position, or flatter your nation.
Then make you mad so you focused on being angry and not on the truth.
There are many tricks to manipulate people.
Politicians know all of them.
I do like you.
Too bad I had to play tricks.
But it's for your own good.
This is important.
