What is the consensus with Southern Delight Fish food?

Yes private labeling of products is a normal business practice. I dont know why that is hard to accept.

Why the fuss about FDA approval, are you also questioning NLS for this?

That's avoiding the question and throwing for some reason NLS into it. Its obvious what the better food is that's been tried and tested for years and years. I'm so tired of all these new gimicky fish food brands! FAIL!

Endo ....... DMD is correct. Zeigler Bros. Inc is simply a commercial feed mill, that manufactures and markets their own food, along with several private labels. Xtreme food is also made by Zeigler. As far as the FDA, there is no requirement that pet food products have pre-market approval by the FDA.

Unlike SD New Life makes their own food, on site, at their own facility and are also APHIS approved. (The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) http://www.aphis.usda.gov/about_aphis/

They also don't use corn, soybeans, or parts of chicken feathers.

You guys know that feathers are a good source of food for fish right? Whoever told you fish food needs to be FDA approved and all that crap must be out of their minds! You think Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and China have FDA approved fish foods, there fish is are far superior than the fish we have here. Having such a narrow minded attitude towards your fish food, u won't get you a well rounded healthy fish. I feed a mixture of everything, not stuck on the label or the chicken feathers! lol! Personally I'm about to try SAD, I'm excited to see the results!

Not sure what peoples problem is with SD. If people like it they like it. No one cares what ya think and not everyone wants to use NLS. I hate NLS and so do my fish. My fish love SD and I'm not changing over to anything else.

So your logic is because wild fish and animals may encounter feathery birds as food in the wild it must be healthy? Or because people in the Far East feed birds and feather meal? Pretty scientific. By your logic that must mean that a dog eating cow crap must be healthy. Lol.

Feather meal is no longer used. Labels are being changed as we speak because my lfs is picking up the rest of the line and they are shipping with new labels this week.

Got a bunch of samples that a few of us in our local group are going to test against NLS and Xtreme on a few batches of fry and some growouts. Time will tell....
