What is the Pound 4 Pound toughest/nastiest cichlid

Cichlid??

Tropheus lb for lb will torment the Dovii to death if they were made equal...

God made them small for a reason. And their stage name is firecracker cichlid.
 
If any tank had a breeding pair the other fish would lose everytime.

Every convict I purchase would get eaten and everyone else I know that are into the hobby had the same result with them, and in most cases the convict was bigger than its attacker. One of the most aggressive cichlids would have to be red devil or dovi. As far as aggression convicts are not on the level of a managuense.
 
Red Devils - I think these are the bullies of the cichlid world. They don't just chase fish around; they torment, torture, tease and just bully other fish around. And then.... they'll kill them when they are done having fun.

I had a glass bangin' RD that even caused his tank to leak out. Every time someone came in the room, he charged the glass at full speed and you could hear/feel the thump.

Yeah, he was a lot of fun. The one that I have now has a unique personality as well. He's so aggressive that I had to take him out of his original tank and put him with my hoga that was 4x his size in hopes he would mellow out. The hoga was definitely the king of the tank... but the red midas was like a little brother brother poking at the big brother just to generate a response. He knew he was smaller and faster so every so often he would swim right behind the big guy... just to see what he would do. Most of the time the big guy would just chase him away and sometimes even got him good. But the devil was relentless; still messing with the big guy over and over again.

It was kind of funny sometimes because the devil would forgot/not realize that a part of his body isn't totally in one of the pots so the big guy would sneak up on him and POW! reminded him really quick who was boss.
 
Encompassing all cichlids, i would have to say BUTTIKOFFERI.

as said allready, a breeding pair of Paraneetroplus is hell on earth.

In my experience, Amphi's are way over rated in terms of agreession between equals.
