Seriously though, to females have some kind of female fixture? I keep looking at their hind fins however I think I'm going about it the wrong way.

Is there some other marking or thing on them that can identify sex?

Potted plants, or lay substrate and anchor the plants with large pebbles, not gravel ...anything larger than its mouth.

Does this have an affect on the sex?
 
You need to vent the fish to find out it's sex...look in the breeding forum I think. I have a jag that moves everything too. It claimed one end of my 90 so I don't put anything down there anymore. Love the remarks though lol
