What is your WC per week?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just do big changes anyways. Just for tip top condition :)

Drip drip drip. 90% every 2-3 weeks

Tanks without drip. 80-90% weekly

If you're serious install a drip system. the stability it provides is priceless plus media needs less maintenance. Some of the waste drains out and isn't processed by filtration, the rest is constantly diluted.

I don't think I need to do so much on my tanks, I'm just terrified of nitrate creep
There are probably other organic/fish produced by-products that should be removed and not just nitrate. I test my parameters maybe once a year, or if fish seems 'just not right'

Another reason. I'm pretty much the same, I may test more often if once I get more fish

*Only if you live somewhere has plenty of water lol
**You should see 3 stages JP direct nature spring tank/pond setup 24/7 constant flow and they don't even need any filtration.
***For me I do 50%~75% weekly WC and like xraycer xraycer and Hendre Hendre I test my water 1 time per year and against the result with my tank water to see the different then I just stick with my WC schedule and thing should fall inline :) My test kit usually expired before I use half each bottles.

Plenty of water here. My backyard is a lake :) even on municipal systems treatment blocks are easy to make and water costs are fairly negligible. Where in the world do you live that water is scarce? California lol?
