What makes a leopoldi a black diamond variant?

so if the beautiful BD in your avatar didn't have the right type of under pattern it wouldn't be a BD despite the upper pattern? or if a more traditionally patterned leo did have the same underpattern it would be a BD despite not having the right upper markings?

How should i put it?? Based on the judgement from the breeders and collectors, a pure BD bloodline must have both the markings on the upper and bottom. If the so called BD only has the marking that resembles a BD but without the bottom marking, then the price tag would not be the same pricetag of a BD. This is what i have learnt and came across from those Taiwanese collectors.

if you see a BD next to a normal leo you will see the diffrence
the black is blacker the white is whiter
as i stated at the start of this thread the spots on the under side of the disk is uniform on BD
very nice rays the cream of leopoldi if you can find them
im a fool to have dold mine

they are genetically smaller in size as compare to leo,grow slower as well.
