What WAS I thinking?

Well... We DO have a huge bucket but it was used for the dog for 1 month. Then it was dusty and used for washing clothes. And yeah the breathing issue. Still can't spell it right. That sounds like a very good idea but the hole is too big and the mud problem is there. Rain = mud/ Mud + pond = R.I.P. I realized that the liner was a waste and will put the bucket there instead. But the mud thing is there AND there s the danger that those two stray cats sassy and black Kim might go for a little snack. And our cat too.

^ No offense, but it just seems a bit like maybe this hobby just isn't quite right for you right now?

Seems like you just don't have the resources to really do what you want? so i would honestly recommend just dealing with what you have (tank wise) and be happy till you can expand on the hobby more maybe when your a little older?

But by the sound of it, it seems your mum doesnt like the hobby but you do...

So what does it have to do with telling your mum?

Okay, in that case, by all means "try" the liner again but if it doesnt work a 2nd time round, try explaining that they most likely need a clean liner that hasnt been covered in chemicals before...

I'd go with the proposed idea of a bucket. Get one of those 20-40 gallon rubbermaid tubs at Tractor Supply if you've got one near you. Those work great. In the meantime you can work on plans for the new pond. :)

Give it up kid. Experts have given you their opinion and all you do is complain and moan. Take the advice or get out. You can order anything off the internet. In any currency. And as far as cleaning the decor and tank with hot water, not the best of ideas. That kills beneficial bacteria, thus making your tank cycle again and stressing your fish, possibly to death. Honestly, you just don't have the resources, and you aren't willing to listen.
