What was the wackiest thing you have ever caught?

My fried caught a dinner plate sized blue gill on the back swing while fly fishing, the fish skipped like a skipping stone off the water.

caught a blue gill then a bass on that blue gill.

hooked a large(over 18 inch) softshell while bull head fishing, we hooked him in the shell above his head he was fine.

I caught a fishing pole with a fish on the end of its line. I've also caught the same thing in reverse, a fish with a pole on the other end of the line.

How could I have forgotten this one? Caught him at Lemon Creek in Staten Island NY. We were fishing for Bluefish... Bluefish were busting bait everywhere... and these joining in. There were hundreds of them around the pier. They were very hook shy. I caught him by tossing out a deadbait Silverside weightless and twitching it along the surface. He t-boned it, and I let him run with it for a good 5 minutes so he could spin it around and start consuming it before I set the hook.

Ya gotta see the teeth these things sport.
