What would it take?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If I lost my puffer I'd be devastated - tho I'd probably get another and start again :)

If my tank cracked, the pure detruction it'd cause would put me off for a while but I'd never leave the hobby. I just can't resist all those naughty fish out there!

What would it take right now for you to simply say, "I give up, Im outta here!" to this hobby?

What if...

your most prized fish died?:(

you lost your job?:irked:

you came home and your biggest tank sprung a leak and emptied out?

your significant other accidentally killed your entire collection?

Would you start over? Take a break? Leave for awhile?

I haven't ever lost a job (involuntarily) and it wasn't my signifigant other, but I've had just about every problem you listed. I'm not about to quit!

About the most prized fish- My ten year old Gold Pearlscale Angel died three days ago. It was a rough night, that fish has been next to my bed for the past 8 years. When he wasn't there at feeding time I felt like my heart stopped...

Anyways, after an appropriate bit of mourning, I'll be off to the LFS for a new best friend!

I don't think I'd ever quit, I'd be pushing a 10g around in a shopping cart if things got really bad!!
If the house burned down and I lost everything I'd be pretty broken, but I think I would buy another tank and start from scratch again. I'd have to remind myself how to cycle a tank tho, I don't think I've set up a completely new tank for over 6 years!

:irked::irked::irked: GR8KARMA that is a low blow. You edit this because I say the "profane feces word" with a "c" instead of an "s"???? And yet 50% of everyone here says words like "***" ??? That is unfairness at its greatest. If you are going to take a "profane feces word" on me, then take it on everone else. Treat everyone fairly.

I smell this getting deleted

Low blow? Get OVER IT!!!

If you have a problem feel free to PM Neo. MODS try to treat everybody equally. For obvious reason we cant but try.

An Hob on my 75 gallon leaked out until the siphon on the intake broke- about 30 gallons down from my my bedroom onto my parents antique dining room table and into the basement- luckily it didnt hit the pool table

so im cutting back to my two tanks in my sig- my parents are pretty happy
might set up a few tanks in a few months

wow...idk what i would do if any of these things happened. Probably take a short break and get back in small (10 gallon with a pair of kribs)
