thanks to those who arent bashing and telling me what you would do
you put it on the world wide web, then you get annoyed when we tell you what you don't want to hear. next time, keep it to yourself and you figure it out.

Ok you want man up I'll give it to you. My mother passed away about a year ago and I have a lil sister with a heart defect who needs looking after and my father works nights on 12 hour shifts. I stay home with her and look out for her. I put off moving away for a job to watch after my lil sister and took another job here in NY. Marriage is no biggy if your with someone u love. I'm not manipulating my father if he says no tanks in the room no matter what then they would be gone. He told me we would talk abouta it and we will see what happens. Don't come out here and guess on someones life. Its real easy to type something when your not face to face with someone phillydog

Im sorry for your losses. This only adds on to the fact that you shouldn't be worrying about a fish tank though. Once again, the fish tank would be something i would even give a time of day to think about if i was in your position. After what happened to you i would be more along the thinking of , i am happy with what i still have, not what i want. Its just not reasonable at this time. We are all people who can look from the outside, sometimes thats really what people need.

I am sure your a big person with a big heart. Just really sit back and think if its really another stress factor you need to be adding. Also maybe you should just hold off and when you get married and move out you can have your tank that is 3x the size of a 125. Be smart man cause in the end you make the decision that can help the situation or make it worse.

like most ppl i keep fish because they take my mind off things and they bring joy to the fish keeper. when i had no tanks set up for about 4 weeks i felt like i was missing something.

I had a tank crack on me and my fish are still at the lfs. I know what you mean when you feel empty when your fish are gone. You have to do whats best for you though. Maybe a 55 with some fish is all you need in your life right now. It will only make that bigger tank that much sweeter when you get it.:headbang2

read my post above though

well i have the 2 20gallons in my room right now and i was gonna switch them out fo the 55 but if they have to go downstairs then they will. the 125 will only go up after i get married and move out next year.
