i have never let any of my aros feed from the tank base and i have never had a bare bottom tank and NONE of the aros i have kept have had drop eye

they eat from the tank floor and no droop eye either. And with a very nice reflective white bare base... so...![]()

I was in orlando seaworld...and saw one amazing 3ft plus long Silver arowana. A very very awesome specimen and with both severe drop eye. I can see that its aged and this arowana is kept in a huge panaromic tank ( u know, huge public aquarium type tank with awesome natural environment setup).
Asked the staff there about that silver and its claimed to be near 15 yrs old. I commented about the bad drop eye and was told to me that it developed that just only about 2 yrs ago...all the while in that tank.
The tank is fully gravelled...and fully made to look like nature's at its best.
So..what gives?

highly unlikely![]()
but still kool if it happened![]()
