Out of all the fish I've netted over the years, Mbuna cichlids are the toughest to catch. Especially in a larger aquarium.

I have to agree with you dude, especially when there holding eggs.... in a tank with extensive rock work!

A clown fish in a full reef tank full of sps corals and a couple hundred pounds of live rock. Not only is the fish next to impossible to catch you have to be extremely careful not to break any of the corals.

agreed, with almost any fish in a heavily rocked coral tank because it isn't as easy as just taking it all out like w/ mbuna or others. that and sw fish will nose dive into the smallest holes in rock and disappear. once had to catch a hawkfish that had been misplaced into a 72 coral display....not fun and hawks aren't all that fast.

clown loaches are easy as pie, I caught one and the others followed it into the net. So if you consider them catching themselves hard then I guess so. catching fry in a large tank (100+) is the worst.

for me it's everything. small fish i can't catch in a large tank, large fish crash around to much, i never want them to injur themselves.

hahahaha thanks for sharing all your tough fish to catch experiences. Funny stuff. I've never owned a coral tank but I imagine that would be harder to catch a fish from one than my tank.
