my tank had a lid with a weight on it and my gar got out and tried to make it across the floor to the feeder tank
dont feel so bad ...

hahah really? im sure mine would try to make it in the freezer to the shrimp if they could.
but thats not your mistake. i actually thought he would be fine. it was my first gar and i have never had a gar like him.

yah i think a few people have learned the hard way that gars are real good jumpers and can squeeze through a hole like a mouse

haha but my new gars dont ever try to jump. i have space on the side where they could sqeeze out but no problems yet. im not to worried bc my fiance is home all the time so if one did jumo she would hear it.
the gars i have now are very calm and peacefull. they dont do much fast moving unless they smell food
