i love our pomeranian. we've had him almost 3 years now. he was our first dog and was easily trained.

my fiance loves the breed, not my top choice but i've grown to adore them. i want to get a shiba inu or husky one day when we have room

Shibas are great too. I have one. She is kind of a loner though so we nick named her maud. Not a good breed for children at all though. And she sheds year round like her life depended on it. But A sweet dog all the same.

My Favorite is the Bassett Hound - Will own one, one day.
My 2nd is the Neopolitan Mastiff - My Bro. In Law keeps them on the family farm for security. Sadly Someone Poisoned one of the Pups last year(My Fave) he had been kicked in the face by one of the Bull Water Buffallo and his Left eye was inverted. But Never fased him in the slightest.

For a gaurd dog that is mart and loyal you can't beat the great pyranesse. They may herd you kids every now and then if they want them closer to them but this is really funny to watch

love working dogs - especially shepherds. have had a rough collie and a shetland sheepdog so i may be biased.

Airedale.
Get a male as they get larger. Mine is around 80lbs and sends people to the other side of the street when they walk by. They are great with kids and easy to train but make sure you are more strong willed than it is.

My neighbors brother came outside to smoke. He had never seen Finn before. I my dog bark and someone say HEY HEY HEY!. I go outside and the guy is hugging the side of the house with 10ft and a 6ft chain link fence separating them. Finn wasn't trying to be menacing but his presence in a dark ally is intimidating. I put the dog inside and the guy just looks at me and says..."thats a big mother F**kin dog, man"
