What's your level and why?

I have a hang on the back overflow...so above the trim... I keep all tanks above the trim... the water will leave a lime scale on it... and it just looks like it is not clean...

when u have HOB filters its much quieter when its higher

I keep mine as high as it takes to turn the AC110's "waterfall" into a big ripple on the surface. It keeps my rec-room a lot quieter that way.

Burt :)

I like to keep the water a little above the trim line.

More water=More Stable environment=Happier aros, rays, and oscars :asianarow:stingray::goldfish:

I was under the impression you had to at least keep the water level at the trim level, to keep water pressure from busting seams or glass? or is this an urban legend?

Yes this would be totally false. Filling up to the trim is actually going to create more pressure since your pressure is based on the HEIGHT of the water. I emphasize height because a lot of people seem to think it is related to total volume when it is not.

And on my upstairs tanks I keep the water level above the trim but on my tanks in the basement I tend to slack a little since most do not have hoods and I run a dehumidifier all day they tend to go below the trim in a day or two.

i keep mine a little bit above the trim so i don't hear falling water from filter

I keep it above the trim line. I have overflows, so I don't have a choice.

i usually fill mine up to the trim, sometimes a little bit higher
