Blue dempseys. 3 of them. I bought them because they look beautiful. Didn't know they didn't act like regular dempseys and get stressed very easily. All three croaked at 50 bucks a whack.

Man I lost two of them, after the first one I learned how prone to death they are, so I isolated the second one and feed it anti parasitic food. he died after about 4 weeks.

an ID a few years ago. Bought them at Wal-Mart and asked the guy there how big a tank I'd need for them(i thought they were real sharks and would get big) He said that in captivity they only grow to 6 inches and said my 40 gallon tank would be fine. Needless to say my id outgrew my tank quickly, luckily I had a friend to give him to. He put him in his 150 gallon tank with a few other fish, but he ended up dying after like 4 months or so.

spent 20 bux on a scarlet kribensis. he spazzed out the second i put him(while still in his bag from the aquarium store) into my tank and was floating upside down breathing. Did first tank accolade and he turned rightside up. Did 2nd accolade.( Followed Aquariums instructions) After another ten minutes put him in the tank and watched him swim straight into the filter and get stuck. 2 minutes later.....dead

Buying a ruby scat that was messy and nippy with other fish, chewed on plants etc. Also would be buying some plants without knowing their requirements and having them die. Basically, money thrown away.

Bought 12 Altums of all sizes. Lost 12 Altums in 7 days. They like water changes. 50% every day. Do'nt have the time for that. No Altums for me. There's a reason you do'nt see these fish in the shops next to regular domestic Angels.

About 10 years ago I had a 75g tank with 2 Tiger O's and a pair of green terrors. I was at my LFS and saw a Jag... he was beautiful. I had NO IDEA what I was in for. I took the fish home, put him in the tank and went to work a half hour later. I came back home to find the Jag methodicaly filleting one of my Oscars... I netted him and took him back to the store.
