Why you need a black pacu if you dont have proper tank for a black pacu?

exactly. Only get this fish if you have a 300g+++++++ tank with huge filtration right now. Don't get pacu unless you can handle right now. And don't use the lame, "i am building a pond" excuse.

This is exactly why I joined monsterfishkeepers. People are actually looking out for the good of the fish. People have the knowledge and experience to know what’s going to work and what’s not. I like that people do everything they can to lead ignorant people away from an obviously bad decision.

thats basically what alot of us try to do. we care more about the well being of fish, than we're going to about telling someone what they want to hear.

most people appreciate the honestly and knowledge thats offered upto them, when their steered away from a bad choice. This OP is not one of them

to the OP: read through the market place, and search for pacu. see just how many people who "thought they had a bigger/better home" suddenly dont, and their resorting to begging someone else to take their pacu. and these are red bellies we talking, not blacks which grow bigger and stronger.

Don't forget its really common for the aquarists dumped pacu in the lakes when they are unable to rehome the pacu. You alway heard the fisherman stories about "Piranha Caught!" or "Human-toothed Fish" or "Vegetarian Piranha Found". I even seen some people are give away fullgrown pacus for free! IMO the pacu is really famous for most common single exotic fish in United States.

I just learned out that OP has TWO redbellied pacu right now, one in 55gal and a 2incher in 10gal with a 2incher oscar.....anyone see something wrong with it?

Ok I get the point now no black pacu, But the guy I bought this new baby pacu from said that when they get bigger he will pay me $5-10 for it. Plus this lfs has a 150g in his store that he keeps the pacu in so when it get's too big someone with a huge tank or pond will want to buy it so theres no problem.

I hate to break the news to you but there are no such as problem-free when it comes to the pacu. Even if you sold the pacus back to the lfs, the chances that pacus may not find a new proper home since theres VERY FEW people can properly house a fullgrown pacu. I don't know what happened to most of the pacu went after their owners dropped them at the lfs when they got too big in their former tanks.

A pacu is the worst fish to return to an LFS, we probably wouldn't take a large one for free. It is the hardest large fish to sell. For every one that goes into a proper size tank, there are dozens (hundreds?) that don't.

Honestly, I'd just club and grill it once it gets too big. I've turned several into fillets for feeding other fish...

yeah right. no one wants a pacu these days. most of the people that have large enough tanks/ponds to house one (and theres not a lot that do) don't want to get pacu! mine were awesome fish, yes, but very large, very skittish and very messy! and definitely not the most attractive large fish. but hey, they were free ;)
